End of year update

I hope you all are having a good end of the year, and holidays if you celebrate them!

An update on the future of Thunder Over Eden has been due for a while. As some of you may know, Thunder Over Eden started as a prose story written by Cass Dickson. I originally started adapting it into a comic to teach myself how to draw comics, and kept going from there. It’s been an incredible learning experience, and I’ve had a lot of fun doing it! However, I’m going to have a lot of demands on my time soon, what with “graduating college” and “looking for jobs”. As such, the comic is going on hold here, at the end of chapter 3, rather than risk having to stop in the middle of a future chapter.

The end of the comic is not the end of the story. Cass is currently looking into getting the prose manuscript published! You can read the first chapter of the manuscript here – it’s a bit different from the beginning of the comic, and I recommend checking it out!

If traditional publishing doesn’t work out, we’ll find another way to tell this story. Future information will be posted here and on the Thunder Over Eden tumblr as it arises. We’ll see what 2020 brings!

Update schedule notice

Starting this week, the comic will have one new page a week, going up on Sunday. Since classes are starting up again soon, and I’ve got an internship lined up on top of a full course load, this seems like the best way to update consistently without burning out! I’m starting the new schedule now so I can build up a buffer before school starts.

There may also be a hiatus after Chapter 2 ends. With the new schedule, that should happen in late October, and how long it might last will really depend on how well I’m handling my class schedule at that point. I’ll make sure to keep you all posted as things progress!

Thank you for keeping up with the comic so far!

Hello, everyone! I wanted to give a bit of a status report to clarify why I’ve missed the past few updates.

Final exams are in progress at my university, and I initially thought that I would be able to work on the comic during study breaks. However, I crashed my bicycle a few days ago and sustained some light injuries, including a scrape on the palm of my drawing hand. Luckily, everything is healing up well so far! The scrape on my hand does limit my drawing time and interferes with my draftsmanship, though.

I’m still chipping away at the next page, and I’m really excited to show it to you! It’ll just take a bit longer as I heal up.

Thank you for reading, as always. Also, I wanted to mention how much I appreciate all the comments and feedback the comic has gotten already! It makes me really happy to know that people are invested in the story, and I’m really excited to share more of it with you.
